Established in 1986 by our esteemed Principal, Mrs Robyn Morgan (nee Rogers), our dance studio has proudly served the Mackay Pioneer Valley community for over 40 years. We are dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inspiring environment where individuals can challenge themselves, ignite their creativity, and achieve their fullest potential through the art of dance and performance.

Robyn is not just a teacher but a beacon of inspiration for aspiring dancers. With her extensive experience and unwavering commitment, she has cultivated a nurturing environment where creativity flourishes. Her innovative approach to dance education incorporates the latest trends and techniques, ensuring that her students are well-prepared for the dynamic world of performing arts. Beyond the studio, Robyn actively engages with the broader dance community, fostering connections that enrich her students’ learning experiences. She believes in the power of collaboration and often invites guest artists to share their expertise, providing her students with unique insights into the industry. Robyn’s vision for the future of dance education is one where every student feels empowered to express themselves and pursue their dreams with confidence. Since founding Roby Rogers School of Dancing, Robyn has successfully owned and operated her school, spreading her passion for dance with hundreds of students.

Robyn has taught and studied all facets of dance and performing arts including, R.A.D Ballet, Comdance Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and National dancing. She has trained her students to excel, with many attaining outstanding results in examinations, competitions and professional dance programs. Many of Robyn’s dancers have successfully secured global careers in the professional performing arts industry, working in dance, modelling, and television. Robyn has worked as a guest choreographer at dance schools across Australia and regularly attends workshops and seminars to continually advance her knowledge and expertise in dance education and performing arts. She takes pride in attending international dance events such as Dance Excellence LA USA and ARTS International LA USA, both as a director for the Queensland Australia Team, as well as a dance coach for the Australian Team in 2018. Robyn also enjoys adjudicating at Eisteddfods and Dance Festivals sharing her knowledge and passion for dance and performance, encouraging dancers to be the best they can be!

With a wealth of experience and an unwavering passion for the art of dance, Courtney is an inspiration to all of her students at Roby Rogers School of Dancing. Courtney’s journey began at the tender age of three, and since then, she has dedicated her life to nurturing the next generation of dancers. Her teaching philosophy revolves around fostering creativity and confidence in her students, ensuring that each class is not just a lesson but an opportunity for personal growth. Courtney’s innovative choreography has garnered numerous accolades, showcasing her ability to blend technical precision with artistic expression. She believes that every dancer has a unique story to tell, and she is devoted to helping them find their voice through movement. Beyond the classroom, Courtney is dedicated to the dance community, actively participating in workshops and events that promote the art of dance. Her commitment to excellence is evident in the success of her students, many of whom have gone on to achieve remarkable accomplishments in the dance world. Whether she is leading a class or choreographing for competitions, Courtney’s infectious enthusiasm and dedication to her craft shine through, making her an invaluable asset to the Roby Rogers community.

Courtney has attended many prestigious events in Australia and the USA including the Australian Dance Festival (ADF), and Dance Excellence LA in 2006, 2013, 2016 & 2025 acting as a Director for the Queensland team in 2016 & 2025. Courtney has also travelled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a guest choreographer for Comdance International, sharing her passion for dance overseas. She has choreographed many award-winning groups, solos, duo/trios for Eisteddfod and competition work.

Annabelle is not only a talented choreographer but also a passionate educator who believes in nurturing the next generation of dancers. Annabelle’s extensive training and accolades reflect her dedication to excellence, making her an invaluable asset to the team. Annabelle has attended prestigious events in Australia and the USA including Dance Excellence LA in 2006, 2013, 2016 & 2025 as a director, as well as ARTS International LA in December 2018, where she studied dance, acting, singing, modelling, tv commercials, voice overs and more. Annabelle has received acceptance and scholarships for numerous performing arts institutions including the New York Film Academy. Alongside her dancing endeavours, Annabelle also graduated from the University of Canberra in 2022 with a Bachelor of Business & Entrepreneurship – High Distinction.

Dana is a vibrant and dedicated Dance and Musical Theatre Teacher at Roby Rogers School of Dancing. With a wealth of experience and a deep love for the performing arts, Dana inspires her students to express themselves through dance and theatre. She believes in nurturing creativity and building confidence in each individual, ensuring that every class is a journey of discovery and joy. Dana’s enthusiasm for dance is infectious, and her commitment to excellence motivates her students to reach their full potential. Through her engaging teaching style, she fosters a supportive environment where students can thrive and develop their unique talents.

Dana commenced dancing at a young age at RRSD, completing many Comdance Examinations and competing in competitions around Australia. Dana has also travelled overseas to Los Angeles to represent Queensland Australia at Dance Excellence in 2013, 2016 & 2025. In her later years of dance and performing Dana developed a love for Musical Theatre and Speech and Drama. Dana has successfully completed her Teachers Certificate’s in Modern Jazz and Tap, and Teachers Diploma in Theatrical and Performing Arts. Dana shares her passion for performing arts weekly in her classes creating a fun, inspiring and educational environment. Dana has also completed her Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and is a full-time teacher. Dana is truly passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with Musical Theatre and Dance students at RRSD.

Jacqui is not just a teacher but a mentor who inspires her students to reach their fullest potential. Her contagious passion and commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment ensures that every dancer feels valued and empowered. Jacqui believes in the power of movement as a form of expression and encourages her students to embrace their individuality through dance. Starting her dance journey at the tender age of five, Jacqui has cultivated a deep love for all things dance and cheerleading. Her impressive track record includes numerous examinations, competitions, and Eisteddfods, where she has consistently achieved outstanding results across various genres. At just sixteen, she began competing as a cheerleader, showcasing her talents throughout Australia and the Pacific.

With extensive skills in acrobatics gained from her cheerleading experience as well as her courses through Acrobatic Arts, Jacqui brings fresh ideas and innovatice techniques that will elevate RRSD’s Acrobatics program to new heights! Jacqui’s enthusiasm for teaching is matched only by her desire to see her students shine both on and off the stage, making her an invaluable asset to the RRSD community.

With a wealth of experience and a deep love for the art of dance, Jan brings a unique blend of passion and expertise to Roby Rogers School of Dancing. Her commitment to nurturing the next generation of dancers is evident in her engaging teaching style, which encourages creativity and self-expression. Jan’s extensive background in both performance and education allows her to inspire students to reach their full potential, instilling in them the confidence to shine on stage. 

Jan studied in Brisbane, under her mother Pat Mackrodt, until the age of thirteen. While in Brisbane Jan had the thrill of every young student when she appeared as an extra with the Queensland Ballet in “The Nutcracker”, and the Australian Ballet in “The Tales of Hoffman”. She was then accepted into The Australian Ballet School where she studied for two years, and then continued her studies at the Victorian College of the Arts Tertiary Performers Course. She was engaged as a performer with the Queensland Ballet in 1985, appearing in the Christmas season of “Giselle”, and she was also a senior soloist in the Queensland Young Dancers Company. Jan was also successful in attaining her RAD Solo Seal award. Jan has successfully directed multiple dancing schools over the past 35 years in the Mackay and surrounding regions and has also had the pleasure of adjudicating various competitions and eisteddfods over the years. Jan loves sharing her passion for dance and performing with her students each week.

We recognise that families lead busy lives, which is why we are continually seeking ways to enhance our service and communication with parents and students. Our user-friendly parent portal provides easy access to everything you need to know about your dancer’s tuition, class schedules, and upcoming events. Most of our communication with parents occurs via email, ensuring that everyone receives important information swiftly and conveniently.  At Roby Rogers School of Dancing, we believe that maintaining open lines of communication is vital for creating a supportive environment for our dancers. We encourage parents to share their thoughts and feedback with us, as this helps us continually improve our programs and services.
